Do I Need A Burn Permit For Campfires?
It is illegal to burn anything when the DNR labels Marathon County as high, very high, or extreme fire danger. Campfires do not require a permit if you burn within the fire ring. If the fire burns outside the fire ring, you will need a permit. Be mindful that any time you burn, you are liable for any damage your fire causes.

Go to the DNR website to fill out the permit online. You can also stop by the Maine Municipal Center and fill out a form if you do not have internet service.

Visit the voter registration page at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-US/RegisterToVote. You will need to provide a copy of your drivers license, and fill out the EL-121 form. Check the Village Voting & Election page for more information.

Call the Village of Maine Municipal Center Office (715) 675-5607 Tuesday & Thursday afternoons between 1 & 6 PM. The Zoning Administrator/Building Inspector, Rich Grefe, holds open office hours on Thursdays from 1 - 7 PM. Rich Grefe's cellphone number is (715) 218-5713. Building a house requires 3 or more acres of land. For more information on building permits, visit the Permit & License Applications page.

Yes you can. We recommend walking/biking on non-County roads with a reflective safety vest or other brightly colored clothing, and a flashlight to illuminate yourself to drivers.
